Dr. Patricia Brent-Sanco


Dr. Sanco has been part of the education community for over 20 years. She is the Director of Equity for the Lynwood Unified School District. In her role she is responsible for leading the district’s Equity Division and serves as the district’s Title IX Compliance Officer. A few of the areas her department is responsible for are; cultural proficiency training, the English Learner Program, and the character education program. Dr. Sanco is excited to support students, staff members, and parents with creating culturally supportive learning environments.  Dr. Sanco has been as a successful middle school teacher, assistant principal and elementary and middle school principal. In 2011, Dr. Sanco founded The Lighthouse Academic Enrichment Foundation whose goal is to provide students in the South Los Angeles area with academic support and mentoring. Dr. Sanco was the recipient of the 2014 Los Angeles County Child Support Services Educator Award, 2015 USC’s Dean’s Superintendents Advisory Group Scholarship, and the PTA Golden Oak Award. Dr. Sanco holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Hampton University, a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills, and a Doctor of Education Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Southern California.
