Luann Hughes has been the Director of Technology for Temple ISD since 2001. As the director, Mrs. Hughes manages the district's infrastructure, hardware, software, services, and technology instruction. Temple ISD is a Texas public school district of 8700 students. TISD is a Google district with a 1:1 Chromebook ratio for high school students, a 2:1 Chromebook ratio in grades 2-8, and classroom iPad in PreK and Kindergarten. Mrs. Hughes is one of the leaders in the district's Blended Learning initiative. She is also serves as the Area 12 TCEA (Texas Computer Educator Association) director. Mrs. Hughes has brought in over $3 million in grants for the district, including the following recent awards: Raise Your Hand Texas Blended Learning, TEA's Technology Lending Grant, and the City of Temple's PSA grant. Mrs. Hughes is a Google Certified Trainer.
