Jeni Zapatka has been with the Central Kitsap School District since January 1995. She taught at Ridgetop Junior High for 12 years before leaving the classroom to work as a Curriculum Specialist. In April 2008, she was selected by the NEA as one of ten teachers from the United States to work with ten teachers from the United Kingdom on the Magna Carta project in Lincolnshire, England. The team met in Washington DC to continue their work on Civil Rights/Human Rights and she presented the work to the International Union Leadership in New Orleans. . She is National Board Certified in US History (2003 and 2013) Jeni was recognized at CKSD Teacher of the Year for 2007 and was selected as the Olympic ESD Regional Teacher of the Year. She has been working as the Director of Curriculum for Central Kitsap for the past three years.
